Camp Overview

The Unified Basketball Camp, delivered in partnership with Special Olympics UAE, offers a welcoming and fully inclusive environment where students of all abilities come together to train, play, and grow side by side.

What is Unified Basketball?

Unified Basketball is a game format where students of all abilities play together on the same team. It’s part of the global Special Olympics Unified Sports movement, which uses sport to break down barriers and build inclusion, friendship, and understanding.

Inclusive: Everyone is encouraged to participate, learn, and enjoy the game no matter their ability level.
Teamwork: Players learn to work together, support one another, and celebrate each other’s strengths.
Social Connection: The camp builds real friendships and creates a sense of belonging for every participant.
Skill Development: All students gain new skills, grow in confidence, and develop valuable qualities like leadership, communication, and empathy.

How will the camp work?

Players will join mixed teams made up of students of all abilities, including Students of Determination. Each session is run by experienced coaches and inclusion specialists from across the region and Special Olympics UAE, ensuring every student is supported and involved whether dribbling, passing, shooting, or cheering on their teammates.

Pathway

This camp is not only about learning and fun it’s also an opportunity to discover talented young players. Outstanding athletes may be invited to continue training with the UAE Unified Basketball Team, opening the door to represent the country and progress within the Special Olympics pathway.
